DiskExplorer as FTP Client

Post by krappold »

I want to use Diskexplorer in FTP mode as an FTP client on my website.

I want each user to have their own FTP account and logon to it and see only what FTP shows them in their account area.

Can Diskexplorer be used in this way?

Yes. How do you plan to pass user's FTP login/password ? You can ask the applet to prompt for FTP username/password on login by using:
<PARAM NAME="authentication" VALUE="auto">

That will work.

As I understand it, I need to buy JFileUpload AND JDiskExplorer to deploy JDiskExplorer. Is that correct? Or does JDiskExplorer include JFileupload?

Yes, both JDiskExplorer and JFileUpload. JFileUpload is the core product. JDiskExplorer is an add-on you install on the top of JFileUpload. Do you plan Pro or Enterprise or Premium license ?

Just the Pro. We have a single small domain that we are trying to offer file transfers for busines-to-business needs for customers. We plan to give them an FTP account on our "1 and 1" brand site and use your software as the tool for their downloads.

Ok fine. You yourtargetdomain.com and not www.yourtargetdomain.com for both JFileUpload and JDiskExplorer when you will register.
