We are unable to get proxy authentication to work with JFileUpload. I have added the "authentication" parameter, but it still doesn't work. The user is not prompted for credentials and NTLM authentication fails.

Here is the parameter I added:

<PARAM NAME="authentication" VALUE="auto">

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Could you check in Java Control Panel that Java is setup to use a proxy? If it is setup with "No Proxy" then it cannot detect it.
