Open window loads, but doesn't display any of the folders or

The symptoms are that the Open window loads, but doesn't display any of the folders or files in the Home directory, and when trying to navigate to a different location via the drop down, nearly everything has an access denied icon on it.

By contrast, when doing the same thing in Firefox, all of the Home folder items/folders display properly, and it's possible to navigate around the directory structure using the drop down option.

Is there anything I can do about this in the applet config, or something I should tell my users to do, to fix this?

Are you talking about JFileUpload core? Are you under MacOSX or Windows? And which JRE version are you using?

Yes, JFileUpload.

OS X 10.8.5
Safari 6.1.1
jFileUpload 3.2
Java 7 Update 51

The problem came up when we upgraded to 3.2, necessary because of the Java permissions issue that many of our users were having.
